Annual Freud Tools January Club meeting. Pictures are provided below of the January club meeting followed by Freud tools display pictures from the interior of the display truck that was also at the meeting.

Annual Club Dues Payment
	Many club members paid their annual $15 club membership fee at the January meeting. If you have not paid your 2010 dues, you can pay at the next meeting or mail a $15 "Village Woodworkers" check to: Ray Worthley 3 Zapato Way HSV,AR 71909.

Meeting Kickoff

Meeting was called to order by the new 2010 Club President, Bill Gruhn. First order of business, Bill (picture left side) called outgoing president Wally Duchow up and presented him with a plaque commemorating his year as president. Wally did an outstanding job as president last year and got the club going in a proactive direction. Bill introduced the 2010 club Board of Directors identified in the following table.   Vice President: Lee Smith   Treasurer: Ray Worthley   Secretary: Dave Mentink     Toy Teams: Tom Funk   Projects: Dennis Helmer   Communications: Mike Thorsen                                            New Club members   The club Secretary, Dave Mentink, introduced 5 new members: Tom Auel, Carl Promesa, Dennis Stelz, Dave Harder, and Rob Tillotson. The new members are pictured. When you see them, introduce yourself and welcome them to the club. (This brings the club to 106 members.)                            Announcements Toy Project Director, Tom Funk gave Jay Chandler a special "Thank You" for the last two years that Jay ran the toy projects. Jay did a fantastic job coordinating all the toy team teams and getting the toys done and to the giveaway each year. Tom is now making out his list of teams and sent around a sign up sheet. If you are not on a team and would like to be on a team or change teams, call Tom at 915-0388 or talk to him at a club meeting.  Project Director, Dennis Helmer talked about a new club project at the Garland County Humane Society.  The work includes fix up and and organization tasks at the  Garland County Humane Society facilities. Contact Dennis at 922-1061 or talk to him at a club meeting for this project or any other club projects.

Annual "Art Birdhouses" Project Kickoff Project Director Dennis Helmer also introduced Terri Menefee from the nonprofit Artchurch Studio in Hot Springs. (The many different activities that Terri and her husband guide can be seen by going to Artchurch Studio website ) Corresponding to last year's Woodworker's Art Birdhouse project, she brought 31 bird house drawings made by her students. You can see pictures of the 2009 Art Birdhouses built by club woodworkers by clicking on: Art Birdhouses Album Members looked at the available Art Birdhouse drawings and many members took a drawing for one that they wanted to interpret and build. The completed birdhouses are due back at the April 14 club meeting. The main program at that meeting will be devoted to the Art Birdhouses. Terri will take the birdhouses from the meeting to auction of to benefit are due back for the April meeting. If you missed the meeting and would like to build one of these bird houses, there were some drawings left and you can get one, or more information about them if you call Dennis at 922-1061.

Show & Tell
	Larry Clark showed a custom table he made with fine details.   Wally Duchow showed a pair of small display cases he recently completed.

Freud Tools Main Program Presentation

Thanks to Freud Tools, again this year George Malley brought the $250,000 Freud display truck and made another informative & entertaining presentation on key aspects of the many quality Freud saw blades & router bits. The Arkansas Freud Tools rep was also at the meeting to answer questions. George had a laptop based presentation he made with periodic giveaways of Freud saw blades & router bit sets to members who could correctly answer questions he asked. Thanks George, the saw blades & router bit sets are greatly appreciated and will be well used. Sample slides from his presentation are shown in the following table. The last table has sample pictures from inside the display truck.
