Mr Freeman and the classroom teachers motivate students to improve their
reading skills to receive one of the 36 Bookcases & Books awards. They
use state level reading achievement tests results to identify most
improved reading students to receive each award and keep in their home.
This approach has demonstrated the ability to motivate virtually all
students in each class to improve their reading skills as much as
possible to qualify for one of several awards. The awards have proven to be a powerful motivational tool for improving school students reading and comprehension skills.
The 5/26/09 reading improvement awards were made by Mr
Freeman, Fountain Lakes Primary Principal in the school auditorium. Unfortunately, there were problems with the picture taking that day, and the only usable picture is provided below.
