The annual club Christmas meeting and party was held with spouses participating. The newsletter is provided below. Thanks to Mark Mullin for the text and Dave Kariker for the pictures.

Thanks to the spouses and members who brought delicious treats to share.

Meeting Kickoff Meeting Kickoff

Club President, Dick McGuire, welcomed all to our final meeting of 2008 and bid a special word of thanks to all the spouses who attended and brought delicious finger food for all to share at our annual Christmas time social.

Members were reminded of scheduled programs. Don't miss the January meeting, as our good friends from Freud Tool Company will be back with their amazing new line of tools and probably some freebies and good deal opportunities.

Visitor Visitor

Ralph Butler, who has been in the village for a month, visited our club. He is a retired Caterpillar engineer from Illinois and is quite interested in furthering his woodworking skills.

Show & Tell

Dan Moran showed us a terrific example of scroll saw work in a state quarters map that he built. A lot of work is evident in selecting distinctive woods, scroll work and time collecting unique quarters.

Lanny Mabus displayed a fine oak chest with a domed lid that he designed and crafted.

Tom Malusky brought a woodcarving of a face he made on a piece of Missouri River driftwood.

Wally Duchow showed off some handsome round, black lacquer boxes he decorated with buttons and earrings.
